United Way of Metropolitan Nashville

United Way of Metropolitan Nashville brings people and organizations together to create a community where individuals, families and neighborhoods thrive. Unique in our focus on community impact, we no longer simply raise and distribute money to nonprofits. We are a catalyst, a convener, a collaborator and a change agent. Our work brings people together to determine the root causes of our community’s most challenging problems and to do whatever it takes to achieve measurable and lasting results.

Campaign Consultants

Each year, United Way of Metropolitan Nashville conducts fundraising campaigns with more than 500 companies in the Davidson County area – quite a feat, but one that couldn't possibly be achieved with just our own development staff. That's where the Campaign Consultants come in.

We're asking companies and organizations to let an employee work part-time from their own offices for United Way. Campaign consultants are needed August 18 through November 7 (12 weeks total) for about 5 – 10 hours per week.

We need 20 to 30 Campaign consultants to help extend the reach of our staff into the community this year. When companies share an employee with us for this endeavor, it helps reduce United Way's fundraising costs so that even more money can be given back to the community.

We're looking for people who are:

  • self-motivated
  • results-oriented
  • able to solve problems creatively
  • organized
  • enthusiastic
  • effective with people
  • committed to the role and mission of United Way
  • a rising star in their organization

"It was an honor to represent the United Way campaign for UPS. The lessons that I learned through this experience were priceless. I've become a better person, not only for myself, but for my community. As a personal journey, I will continue sharing the United Way message – it's that important to me."
- Kim Smith, a 2007 Campaign consultant who was "loaned" by UPS.
