Become an Ornithologist!

Become a what?!? An ornithologist studies birds! Come to Shelby Park’s Lake Sevier to study the interesting birds who call the city home. Geese, ducks, pigeons, gulls and more! All about their lives, we will explore! See if you can ID and then we will send our observations off to the Lab of Ornithology at Cornell University! Fun for all ages.

Come out to The Franklin Farmer’s Market from 8 AM until 1 PM. CoolMomsCare will be in the Celebration Garden with activities, music, crafts, and fun from 9 AM until 11 AM. Bring the kiddos for bees and honey with Brunswick Beeworks.

Local Foods & Organics Festival

Come learn about the health and environmental benefits of eating locally and going organic; learn about community gardens here in Nashville; meet some organic farmers of middle TN; get informed about food security; watch cooking demonstrations, make a rain barrel and maybe even taste some organic samples! Join the naturalists of SBNC and our guests for a day of healthy fun!

Participants will construct imaginary planets and stars in order to create a small-scale galaxy.
