Introduce the family to a new species.

Sit down and take a few minutes to introduce your children to a new animal. Use Google and check out some pictures and get some quick information about the animal. Maybe you choose a flamingo and discuss what wading birds are and what they do. Or maybe you even learn a few tidbits about a local species close to home in case you spot one on a walk. You'll teach them some new facts and spend some much needed quality time with them. Follow this up with a trip to the zoo or the aquarium for a closer look.
