Sing, Sing A Song

Sing it loud.

Pick a tune and change the words to incorporate your child's name or what they are doing at the moment.  Try the tune from Frere Jacques and be creative. Try it in the car since scenery is constantly changing. This works great with little ones in the back especially when they can't see you. Your child will learn to recognize tones and it will bring a soothing smile to their face. As they get older you can change to a singing version of "I Spy." Take turns singing "I spy a school bus" or "I spy a yellow sign."

This is definitely a favorite with my girls, they love hearing their name in a song and no matter what their mood, this usually cheers or calms them.
