Love My Community
Week of Love: Love Our Community In honor of Valentine’s Day, this week is dedicated to showing our love for different areas of our life. Today, show your love for your community by eating one local food. When we buy local we are supporting those who work in our community and helping to sustain their business, while at the same time saving energy (the food does not have to travel as far). Many local farms have CSA programs that are starting to take orders for the spring. This may be a great way your family can show your Love for your Community throughout the year.

I love the Franklin Farmer's Market. Last fall, we signed up for an extended season with a local CSA. Every-other week we went out to Franklin to pick up our goods and there were other local farmers with anything from eggs and green beans to tea and soaps. I even try to buy in the 'local' section of our grocery because I now know what a difference it is and makes. Post a commentYou must be a registered user to post comments. |

Nashville's local restaurants and shops are so much better than chain stores, this is easy. "Going" co-op for fruits and vegetables is the next step I want to take in making a difference. I know that local farms do the co-op program, but I've been lazy about getting on board until now!
