The Night Before
Take a few minutes the night before to make lunches WITH your kids. In light of the craziness and rush of the morning routine, take the opportunity to pack your kids' lunch the night before. After supper, have your kids help make their own lunch. Give them lunch choices. Let them spread the jelly on their sandwich and count their carrots and put them into a reusable container. You are teaching your kids to make choices, giving them some independence and allowing them to participate in household duties. You are also taking a few minutes out to have some quality-time and gradually teaching them how to take care of themselves at home.
