Let independence ring with your kids in your house today.

One part of raising children is understanding that the older they get the more independence they need and deserve. Let them do something you’ve been doing for them. If they're old enough to open the door, let them try; if they're old enough to carry their backpack, give them the chance. Provide reassurance that they're growing up, are old enough to do this independently, and that you're happy to help if they need it. This teaches them the importance and meaning of growing up. Age is not only a number but an opportunity to have more self-care and responsibility.
