5 minutes of caring
Let the Holiday Spirit Last All Year
Keep your holiday cards to spread the love throughout the year. Don't discard the holiday cards and photo cards you've received. Re-purpose them! Number a paper from 1-52 and randomly choose a card. The family who sent that card goes in space 1 and so on, with 2 families per week if you have more than 52 cards. Each week in 2008, celebrate your "family of the week" by talking about your friendship with that family or sending them a quick "thinking of you" note. Trim and paste photo cards into a collage to hang in your home as a year-long reminder of the loving wishes from family and friends.

We did not receive enough cards for one each week, so I also took the people we sent cards to, but may not have had one from, and added them to our list. Our plan is to take supper on Friday night to share about our friends and family each week. Donna, I love the idea of placing the card in the center of the table. We may try that, too. We put a different received Christmas card in the center of our table each day so that we are certain to include those folks in our prayers for peace, well-being and God's direction in their lives.
