What is the difference if we recycle or not?

Teach your children the difference between trash and recycling. Let your kids know about landfills and how 55% of the waste generated in the US goes into a landfill. Explain that recycling turns products like plastic, glass and paper into new products. Have your kids recycle the junk mail and throw the apple core in the trash (or better yet, compost it). Or, recycle the toilet paper ring and throw those wipes in the trash (do not flush those wipes!). Make a game out of it and encourage them to recycle as many things as possible around the house.
