5 minutes of caring
Small Token
Been away from the kids? Maybe bring something special back... When you’ve been away from your kids and are returning, take a few minutes to stop and get them something small (an acorn or a few pretty leaves) to bring to them as a little surprise! This is not to teach our kids that they should expect things from us, as we are trying to instill an “enough” mentality, but rather that we thought of them while we were out and wanted to get them something special. Unexpected signs of love are great ways to help our kids feel special and show that we do have time for them!

Brenda, thank you for sharing your story! I love small things like sand dollars. It really is the THOUGHT that counts. Post a commentYou must be a registered user to post comments. |

This is a great thing to do.... and it's even more rewarding when your kids "return the favor" as they get older. My 21 year old son recently brought me a sand dollar he picked up on the beach during a trip to Maine- meant the world to me! More often than not it's those little "free" things that mean the most!
